Q. Will travelers from U.S. territories need to present a passport to enter the United States?
No. These territories are a part of the United States. U.S. citizens returning directly from a U.S. territory are not considered to have left the U.S. territory and do not need to present a passport. U.S. territories include the following: Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Swains Island and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
Some tid bits- We wanted to give you a quick list of things to know as you travel around Puerto Rico.
CLIMATE - The average year-round temperature is 82ºF (28º C), with mild easterly trade winds. The Rainy season starts in August and ends in October, but, due to our tropical climate, you can expect brief rain showers at any moment.
CUISINE - Although a wide range of international cuisines are available, authentic Puerto Rican and Caribbean are more common. Major restaurant chains can be found throughout theisland-wide.
CURRENCY - The U.S. dollar is the official and only currency used in Puerto Rico. Major U.S., Canadian, and European banks have branches on the Island. ATM's are plentiful, and linked to major worldwide banking networks.
CUSTOMS AND DOCUMENTS - Puerto Rico is a U.S. Commonwealth and its inhabitants have U.S. citizenship. Therefore, passports are not necessary for U.S. citizens. DRIVING - Gas is sold by the liter, distance is measured in kilometers, and speed is measured in miles per hour. The legal driving age is 16. Many national and local car rental companies operate at or near the airports and at key locations in the tourist districts.
ELECTRICITY – Same as US, with electricity at 110 volts and power outlets.
GAMBLING - Gambling is legal in Puerto Rico and all major hotels have casinos.
LIQUOR LAWS - The legal drinking age is 18. Alcohol consumption in the streets of Old San Juan and other cities is against the law.
TELEPHONES - The phone system is the same as in the U.S. (Sprint, Cingular, MCI, etc.) The Island's area codes are 787 and 939. You need to dial the area code before placing a call anywhere within Puerto Rico and the U.S. For international calls, international codes apply. Calling cards can be used as well.
POSTAL AND MAIL SERVICES - The U.S. Postal Service provides the same reliable service as in the U.S. Also, all major courier services; such as FedEx, UPS, Island Wide among others serve Puerto Rico.
SIZE AND POPULATION - Puerto Rico is roughly 100 by 35 miles (160 by 56 km), which is about the size of Connecticut. The Island's population is 3.9 million.
TAXES - There is a 7% sales tax in Puerto Rico. There's an 11% tax on room charges in hotels with casinos, 9% tax on hotels without casinos and 7% on Bed and Breakfast style inns.
TELEVISION - Cable and satellite TV service are available island wide, with local television stations and most major East Coast TV stations.
TIME – Puerto Rico is on Atlantic Standard Time and we do not observe Daylight Savings. For the current time of day call (787) 728-9595.

ALSO my brother have a 3bed & 2bath house in Cabo Rojo (southwest and 2 hours from San Juan, for me with the best and calm beaches) and I'm working with a beachfront house in Luquillo with apartments of 1 & 1, 2 & 1, and 3 & 1 with no air conditioner because is ocean ventilation with the rainforest view in the back.
The house has a lot of beds, 1 king, 3 queen, 1 queen sofa-bed, 2 trundle bed, 2 bunk beds, but from March 25 there's a new expansion with another house in the same lot that if a group comes in I have other 15 single beds, and easily can sleep up to 40 persons. The house have TV's in every bedroom, cable TV with one link, and it have hi-speed internet for FREE.

The landlords keep the entire place clean and well-stocked with supplies.
I felt very comfortable here. Although near a main thoroughfare, the street is
quiet, so don’t worry about being disturbed. The apartment is near a bus stop, but it
may be easier to rent a car; besides, you’ll have better luck getting to the nearby
Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club just down the road. Everything worked as well as
advertised. You cannot go wrong here! Bibiano and Miriam Rivera are great
hosts! They love to sit on the patio, share a few drinks, and talk with you. They
are very nice. Also, Bibiano is a gracious landlord; he’s willing to help in any way to
make your stay as comfortable as possible.

What can I say about Puerto Rico? For a tireless traveler like me,
the island of Puerto Rico is a paradise to relax, see beautiful places,

you stay and the treatment you receive and in that context, I will
remember my stayed this year in Puerto Rico as something special. The
apartment in Rio Piedras that I rented through the

to spend a few days on vacation: comfortable, spacious and totally equipped.
But the best are Bibiano & Miriam, its administrators.
From the time I arrive and they picked me up at the airport,
until a week later when I said goodbye at the same place,
they treated me as if they knew me all my life.
Any compliment that I would like to make about them will be
minimized by words. It is something that you have to live for yourself,

acercamiento personal, ayuda constante y amabilidad de su dueño. Por solo $45.00
a $40.00 por dia usted obtiene dos cuartos separados con espejos grandísimos, aire
acondicionado y claro esta las camas. Tambien incluye una cocina compelta con
todos los utensilios necesarios, una salsa y una aérea pequeña para cenar. Tambien
un tocador de CD’s en estéreo, Cd’s en español, lavadora y secadora y cervezas y
sodas incluidas en nuestra llegada. Como puede mejorar eso?! El señor Rivera se
sobrepaso en su amabilidad llevándonos al aeropuerto, recogiendo nuestra ropa (se
nos olvido recogerla) y hasta darnos una caja adicional para nuestros souvenirs que
compramos alla. Yo le recomiendo este lugar a cualquiera sin ninguna
preocupación. La localización es excelente, cerca de una avenida principal.
Definitivamente cada vez que regresemos a Puerto Rico nos quedaremos con ellos.

mantienen el lugar limpio y bien surtido de articulos necesarios.
Yo me senti bien comoda ahi. Aunque esta cerca de una avenida principal,
la calle es bien tranquila, asi que no se preocupen de ser disturbado.
El apartamento esta cerca de una parada de autobuses, pero es mejor
rentar un carro; ademas asi tendra mejor suerte para llegar al cercano
Wal-Mart y Sam’s Club al bajar la calle. Todo funciono como se anuncio.
No se podra equivocar aqui! Bibiano y Miriam Rivera son unos buenos

tragos y hablar con uno. Ellos son muy agradables. Ademas, Bibiano
es un buen proprietario; El esta dispuesto a ayudar en cualquier forma
para hacer su estadia lo mas comoda posible.

*** Solamente les queria dejar saber que fuimos a Puerto Rico este pasado Febrero
y ha sido la mas estupenda experiencia que hemos tenido. Tengo que admitir que
Bibiano nos hizo sentirnos como en nuestra casa. Estaba un poco preocupado por ir
a un sitio que nunca habiamos ido, pero el hizo la experiencia muy agradable. El
nos recomendo un restaurante pequeñito y fue tambien estupendo, las personas son
maravillosas. Estamos listos para tomar otro vuelo bien pronto y estamos confiados
de que una de nuestras paradas sera con el.

*** Les escribo para darles las gracias, primero por las facilidades
que tiene el apartamento y lo comodo que es, pero principalmente
por la gran gentileza y calidad humana que poseen el Sr. Bibiano y
su esposa Miriam, no se puede describir con palabras la atencion y
el trato que nos brindaron. Apenas llegamos y nos sentimos como si
nos conocieran de toda la vida. Imaginese que coincidio que yo
estaba de cumpleaños y Bibiano y Miriam me dieron una gran
sorpresa, me celebraron mi cumpleaños con un pastel que tenia
mi nombre; casi me hacen llorar cuando me cantaron cumpleaños.
Fue un gesto muy bonito que no se me va a olvidar. Tanto mi Madre,
como mi esposo y yo les estamos totalmente agradecidos,
la pasamos super. y quiero agregar que el apartamento esta situado
en una zona muy tranquila, ya que muchas personas no saben con exactitud
como es el area donde esta situado, yo en particular quede encantada con la
zona donde esta, ya que a veces uno tiene el temor de hospedarse en un sitio
no muy seguro, y esta es una zona residencial, muy tranquila, y muy centrica.
De seguro que nuestras proximas vacaciones la pasaremos alla.

***Mis vacaciones en Puerto Rico.
¿Qué puedo decir de Puerto Rico? Para una viajera incansable como yo,
la isla de Puerto Rico es un paraíso para descansar, conocer lugares
bonitos, playas de ensueño…, un sin fin de cosas que hacen que un viaje
sea agradable.
Pero, para mi, lo que realmente hace diferentes unas vacaciones son
el lugar donde te alojas y el trato que recibes y, en ese sentido,
recordaré mi estancia de este año en Puerto Rico como algo especial.
El apartamento de Río Piedras que alquilé a través de las
web Craiglist y www.depuertoricoalmundo.com es un buen lugar
para pasar unos días de vacaciones: cómodo, espacioso y
totalmente equipado. Pero lo mejor son Bibiano y Miriam, sus
administradores. Desde que llegué y me recogieron en el aeropuerto,
hasta que una semana después me despedí en el mismo lugar,
se portaron conmigo como si me conocieran de toda la vida.
Cualquier elogio que quisiera hacerles quedaría minimizado
por las palabras. Es algo que hay que vivirlo, así que,
lo mejor que puedo hacer es recomendártelo si quieres
recordar un viaje especial.
